Let's start with Life Context. These short questions will help the Empathy Algorithm process the reflection sheets that will be submitted to you.
Now let's go to High Points. What are the high points of your daily life that you look forward to most on a day-to-day or week-to-week basis?
Let's examine more closely. Why are these your high points? What exactly is happening that you look forward to?
Now let's talk about Low Points. What are the low points of your daily life that you look forward to least from day to day or week-to-week?
Let's examine more closely. Why are these your low points? What exactly is happening that you do not look forward to?
A lot of things have changed in so short a time.
What do you miss most that you'd like to have back?
Our next segment is called Drains and Gains.
We will zoom in on various areas of life and go through a checklist for each of them.
Okay, congratulations! At this point, we've reached a milestone in our Empathy Project.
We've been sent a couple of Challenge Rounds to take our conversation to the next level.
Are you ready?
Envision when you're old and gray - let's say you're 95 years old by then. You've lived a full life. As you look back, what do you think has brought the most joy, meaning, and fulfillment to you?
I will read out 4 statements and will ask you to rank them from 1-4, where 4 is the most meaningful to you and 1 is the least meaningful.
Ok - now we're ready for Challenge Round #2 - a quick round!
I'm going to read 4 statements. Please rate each statement in terms of how you actually spend your time, energy and resources these days, where 1 means "I don't spend time on this" and 4 means "I spend a lot of time on this". Feel free to add comments.
(1) I don't spend time on this, (4) I spend a lot of time on this
That's it for Round 2. Ready for the last Challenge Round?
So much has changed in the world even in such a short time. What is it in me that is good, that is gifted, that remains in me no matter how much the world changes, that allows me to stay relevant and keep being a force for good?
We don't want complete sentences for this one; just keywords or images that come to mind.
What pains have I encountered most meaningfully in my own life? How have my pains been a gift — because they allowed me to care deeply about something bigger than me? How have my pains moved me to Empathy (knowing the pain of others)? To Compassion (knowing the pain of others and so wanting to act on it)? To Love (knowing the pain of others and so wanting to give the very best in myself to heal their pain)?
Same here. We don't want complete sentences; just keywords or images that come to mind.
Beyond my inner circle of family and friends, who are the people I encounter most meaningfully in my life whose pains call out to my giftedness?
That completes our 3 Challenge Rounds. At this point, we're ready to wrap up our conversation. I just need to ask a few closing questions.
First of all, anything else you'd like to add, or any other areas of your life you'd like to bring up that you feel is important?
